U-17 v Ballintubber match report
Davitts U-17 team defeated Ballintubber, 5-14 to 0-7, in the County B Championship on Friday evening in Ballindine. A superb first half display from the homeside, with corner forwards Fionn McLoughlin and Dylan Gallagher causing mayhem in the Ballintubber backline, saw Davitts lead by 5-8 to 0-3 at the halftime break. Fionn McLoughlin opened the scoring with a well taken goal in the first minute and he goaled again in the 11th, 24th and 29th minutes with Dylan Gallagher getting in on the act in the 30th minute. The first half points scorers were rampaging full back Sean Keadin, Cathal Corless (2), Dylan Gallagher (4) and Fionn McLoughlin.
The second half was a much closer affair with Ballintubber having more of the ball but finding the Davitts defence in a mean mood. All six defenders excelled with Conor Feerick particularly outstanding. Davitts added points from Bon Glynn, Conor Feerick, Cathal Corless (2), Conor McDermott and Dylan Gallagher to win comfortably.
On this occasion all of the Davitts players were on top of their game, especially in the first half, in a very impressive team display.
