U-17 v Balla match report
Davitts and Balla met in the U-17B Championship on Friday evening in Ballindine with Balla coming out on top by 3-12 to 1-14 after a fine game.
Davitts were the better team in the first half and led by 1-8 to 1-4 at the interval, Cathal Corless the goalscorer in the 25th minute.
Balla began to get on top in the second half as they set about closing the gap. Some wayward shooting didn’t help their cause but a goal from a penalty in the 43rd minute finally got them on level terms. A minute later they took the lead for the first time since the 3rd minute and had extended that lead to seven points before three late Davitts points narrowed the deficit to four points at the final whistle.
Best for Davitts were Sean Keadin, Conor Feerick, Jack Melvin, Cathal Corless, Conor McDermott, Dylan Gallagher and Fionn McLoughlin.
