U-16’s v Cill Cholman – Match Report
Davitts U-16 team, who did so well to qualify for the County Div 4 League Final, were unfortunate to meet a very talented Cill Chomain side, on top of their game, in that final in McHale Park on Thursday evening. The final score, on an evening that very little went right for Davitts, was 5-22 to 1-10.
Cill Chomain played with the strong wind in the first half and had built up a 2-15 to 0-6 lead by halftime. The power and pace of their attack was impressive and their accuracy (shooting only one wide in that half) was exceptional. Davitts scores came from Shane Treacy (2), Ryan McLoughlin and Evan Ronayne (3).
Davitts battled hard in the second half and tagged on a superb goal by Evan Ronayne and points from Evan Ronayne (2) and Jack Ronayne (2). Davitts never threw in the towel but on this occasion there was no stopping the rampant Cill Chomain lads.
