U-16’s v Aghamore – Match Report
Davitts U-16 team got back to winning ways in Ballindine on Tuesday evening, defeating Aughamore by 2-11 to 1-9. The home side made full use of the wind in the first half and led by 2-8 to 0-3 at the interval. Jack Rodgers netted the first goal after a terrific pass from Thomas Waldron, while Waldron scored the second goal, a super shot from 25 metres to the top corner, in the closing moments of that first half. Davitts were under the cosh for long periods in the second half but great work by William Freeley, Shane Cummins and Jonathon Fahy in defence, Donie Ronayne and Liam Noone at midfield, and attackers Michael Clarke, Thomas Waldron, Matthew Trench and Gerard Griffin, saw the homeside through.
