U-15’s advance to semi final unbeaten
Davitts U-15 team kept their 100% league record intact with an excellent 2-10 to 0-8 victory over Carras in Ballindine on Sunday. Carras started brightly, scoring the opening two points before Davitts sprung to life, with Donie Ronayne, superb at centre half back, midfielder Padraig Mangan, Matthew Trench and Tommy Waldron leading the charge, and led by 1-6 to 0-2 at the break, the goal scored by Liam Noone whose long range free kick long caused panic in the Carras defence, and ended up in the net.
Davitts kept the pressure on their visitors in the second half and were rewarded with a second goal, fittingly scored by man of the match Matthew Trench, with ten minutes remaining, to clinch victory. Others to shine for Davitts in this game were William Freeley, Jack Rodgers, Liam Noone, Michael Clarke and Cathal Hennelly.
