U-15 v Shrule Glencorrib match report
Davitts and Shrule Glencorrib met in the first round of the U-15 C Championship in Ballindine on Tuesday evening with Davitts coming out on top by 3-12 to 3-8 after a very competitive match. Shrule Glencorrib got the perfect start scoring 2-1 in the opening five minutes. Midfielder Conor McDermott goaled for Davitts in the eighth minute and this score settled his teammates. Davitts were trailing by a point at half time, 2-3 to 2-2, Ronan Kelly bagging the second goal and Fionn McTigue and Ciaran Treacy pointing.
Shrule Glencorrib opened the second scoring with two points to extend their lead with Brian Corless and Conor McDermott replying with two points in the 34th and 37th minutes. The visitors pointed again but seven unanswered Davitts points from Ciaran Treacy (3), Conor McDermott (2), Aaron O Dea and Dylan Gormally, put Davitts five ahead before Shrule Glencorrib scored again, a 49th minute point.
A fine Brian Corless goal for Davitts in the fiftieth minute extended their lead to seven points but Shrule Glencorrib fought back again and scored a goal and a point before Davitts Aaron O Dea fired over the game’s final score to clinch a hard earned victory.
