U-14’s v Kilmeena – League Semi Final – Match Report
Davitts U-14’s have qualified for the County Div 3 League final the hard way. Having coming out on top in a three way play-off for fourth spot in the division, after defeating Ballinrobe and Castlebar Mitchels, they travelled to the league’s top ranked team Kilmeena on Tuesday evening, and defeated them by 4-10 to 3-7, after an epic semi-final battle. Kilmeena had defeated Davitts in Ballindine by nine points earlier on in the league so great credit must go to the management team of Derek Byrne, Anthony Hennelly and Ann Ronayne for masterminding this victory.
Davitts will now play a strong Charlestown side in the final on Monday evening, June 10th in McHale Park, Castlebar at 8pm. No doubt the usual excellent support will be there to cheer on the new kids on the block… they deserve it.
