U-14’s v Islandeady – Match Report
Davitts and Islandeady U-14 teams met in the league in Ballindine on Thursday evening and they served up an absolute thriller with the visitors just about shading it to win by 2-13 to 2-10. Davitts had led by 1-6 to 0-6 at the break with outstanding midfielder Evan Ronane scoring 1-5 and Daniel Huane getting the other point.
Islandeady came out with all guns blazing in the second half as the game balanced on a knife edge. They ate into the Davitts lead and two well worked goals had the visitors ahead by four points with ten minutes remaining but a goal from the hard working Jamie Mullee and another Huane point tied the game. Islandeady were not going to be denied however as they scored the final three points of this pulsating game.
Best for Davitts were Caelainn Mullee, a very promising goalie, Francis Griffin, Ryan McLoughlin, Kieran Fahy, Kieran Waldron, Evan Ronane, Daniel Huane, Jamie Mullee and Cian Treacy.
