U-14s v Ballinrobe – Match Report

Davitts U-14 team entertained Ballinrobe in the County B Championship on Thursday evening and advanced to the Quarter-Finals after a 7-15 to 1-7 victory. Davitts were in top form throughout and although Ballinrobe fought well right to the finish, the result was never really in doubt.

Davitts got off to a flyer with a well taken goal by Jack Devane after a lovely pass from Dylan Gallagher. Two more goals from John Wallace and Dylan Gallagher left Davitts ahead by 3-6 to 0-4 at the break.

After the Davitts keeper Tristan Diskin produced a brilliant save early in the second half, the superb Davitts defence made it extremely difficult for the Ballinrobe lads while the Davitts forwards began to score freely. Dylan Gallagher added two more goals to complete his hat trick, with Jack Devane and Joe Prendergast also goaling before the finish.

This was another fine team effort with exceptional performances from Fionan Gallagher, Micheal Hett, Thomas Ronayne, Brian Og McTigue, Jack Devane, John Wallace and Dylan Gallagher.
