U-14 Feile Peil ná n-Óg qualifier – Match Report

Davitts U-14 team put up a very spirited display against Claremorris, in a Feile game played in Ballindine on Saturday evening, before being beaten by 2-8 to 1-4. The teams were level at half time, 1-2 apiece, Jack Ronayne and Kelan Cosgrove scoring Davitts points and outstanding midfielder Evan Ronayne scoring an excellent goal after great work by Jack Ronayne.

The game took a dramatic turn midway through the second half when man of the match Evan Ronayne had to retire injured, with Davitts leading by 1-4 to 1-3, Evan and the hardworking Daniel Huane the pointscorers. Davitts struggled after the loss of their talisman and Claremorris took full advantage to run out easy winners in the end.

Davitts will be very encouraged by this display however and the performances of Caolan Mullee, an assured goalkeeper, Thomas Corless, Cathal Moran, Ciaran Fahy, Evan Ronayne, Daniel Huane and Jack Ronayne auger well for the team in the coming year.
