U-13s v Tourmakeady – Match Report

Davitts hosted Tourmakeady in the Semi-Final of the County U-13 League Div 3 but the home side proved to be much stronger winning by 12-21 to 0-3, on a day that Davitts could do little wrong. Tourmakeady got off to a bad start and when you are losing, as we know only too well, nothing seems to go your way.

Davitts midfield partnership of Sean Keadin and Dylan Gallagher were very impressive throughout the game, scoring heavily but also working very hard.

The defence remained stingy all through the game with Mark Birmingham, Ethan Boyle, Aaron Trench, Brian Hett, Seanie Meehan and Conor Feerick playing with fierce determination. Anyone that got past those defenders found that Dylan O Brien does not concede goals easily.

Up front what was most impressive was the workrate and unselfishness of Davitts forwards with the hard grafting trio of Ronan Kelly, Conor McDermott and Ciaran Treacy scoring just two points between them. On this occasion, Harry Fallon, Finn McLoughlin, Fionn McTigue and sub Ruan O Conaire were the heavy scorers.

Davitts were able to give a run to subs Dara Garvey, Ben Corless, Brian Corless, Tadhg Feerick, Sean Clarke and Noah O Brien who all acquitted themselves well.

A much stiffer test await in the Final when Davitts will be taking on an impressive Eastern Gaels outfit who, as expected, won their Semi-Final in a similarly ruthless manner against Burrishoole. (Davitts and Eastern Gaels have already played a drawn match in this competition a few weeks ago).

Davitts: Dylan O Brien, Aaron Trench (1-0), Mark Birmingham, Conor Feerick, Brian Hett, Ethan Boyle (0-1), Sean Meehan, Sean Keadin (0-5), Dylan Gallagher (3-10), Ronan Kelly (0-1), Conor McDermott (0-1), Finn McLoughlin (2-0), Fionn McTigue (1-1), Harry Fallon (2-1), Ciaran Treacy. Subs used: Ruan O Conaire (2-1), Dara Garvey, Ben Corless, Brian Corless, Tadhg Feerick, Sean Clarke (1-0), Noah O Brien.
