Seniors v Moy Davitts–League Division 2 – Match Report
Davitts Senior team suffered another defeat in Div 2 of the League when Moy Davitts came to Ballindine and won by 3-10 to 2-11 on Saturday evening.
Davitts got off to a terrible start and trailed by 1-5 to 0-1 after fifteen minutes before they began to settle down. Points from Josh Ronayne, Cathal Hennelly, Evan Ronane (2) and Johnno Clarke saw Davitts narrow the gap to three points before the visitors struck for a second goal followed by a point to stretch their lead to seven points with five minutes of the half remaining. A rattled homeside fought back well and Andy Peters fired home a super goal after quick thinking by Michael Conroy. Points from Evan Ronane and Josh Ronayne followed before the break to leave the visitors ahead by 2-6 to 1-7 at halftime.
Davitts started slowly again after the break and Moy Davitts extended their lead with two points before getting through for a third goal. Davitts responded with points from Josh Ronayne and Evan Ronane (2) before a Michael Conroy pass set up Paul Carey for a well taken goal to narrow the gap to a single point with five minutes remaining. The visitors were shaken but managed to regain their composure and added a further two points with Evan Ronane replying for Davitts.
Davitts best players were Padraig Mangan, Dimitry Trench, Patrick Keadin, Josh Ronayne, Andy Peters, Michael Conroy and Evan Ronane.
