Seniors v Islandeady–League Div 2 – Match Report
Davitts travelled to Islandeady for a Senior League Div 2 clash on Saturday evening and after a ding dong battle it was the home side that emerged victorious on a 0-12 to 0-10 scoreline.
There was never more than a kick of the ball separating the two sides and it was Davitts who led by 0-5 to 0-4 at halftime with Evan Ronane scoring four points and Josh Ronayne also getting on the scoreboard.
The second half was just as tight and the teams were tied on 0-10 apiece as the game entered stoppage time. Islandeady kicked over two superb long range efforts to win this exciting match. Davitts second half scorers were Josh Ronayne (3), Liam Noone and Ronan McNamara.
Best for Davitts after a disappointing performance were Patrick Keadin, Padraig Mangan, Josh Ronayne, Ronan McNamara, Liam Noone and Evan Ronane.
