Seniors v Hollymount Carramore–SFC – Match Report
Davitts were defeated, 2-11 to 1-10, by Hollymount Carramore in the final group B game in the Senior Championship played in Bekan last Saturday. The result means that Davitts will play Aghamore in a Relegation Playoff in Ballyhaunis next Sunday.
Hollycarra got off to a brilliant start with two early goals and were 2-5 to 0-2 ahead before Colm Boyle blasted home a super goal late in the first half. Josh Ronayne added a point to give Davitts some hope going in at the break.
Davitts began the second half brightly with points from Evan Ronane and Josh Ronayne in the opening two minutes. Hollycarra were more economical with their possession however with Padraig Feerick, Nathan Moran and Darren Coen in particularly good form. Davitts added points from Josh Ronayne (4) and Michael Conroy before the end but they couldn’t breach the Hollycarra defence for a second goal.
Davitts best performers were Patrick Keadin, Cathal Higgins, Colm Boyle, Johnno Clarke, Josh Ronayne, Evan Ronane and Michael Conroy.
