Seniors v Crossmolina – Match Report
Crossmolina: 2-12
Davitts: 1-10
Davitts Senior team travelled to Crossmolina on Saturday evening and, whilst again
proving they can put it up to the big boys, still came home without the league points. The game was tit for tat early on until Crossmolina goaled in the 15th minute to put them into a 1-5 to 0-3 lead. Davitts responded well and an excellent Josh Ronayne goal, cleverly created by Michael Conroy, and points by the most impressive Paul Carey (2) and Ronan McNamara left Crossmolina ahead by 1-7 to 1-6 at the break.
The home side demonstrated why they have been one of the top teams in the county, and indeed country, for the past number of years with their clever second half play although spurned goal chances by Ronayne, Aidan McTigue and McNamara could have changed the outcome of this game.
Davitts were best served by Mark Diskin, Alan Roche, James Cummins, Ronan McNamara, Keith Prendergast (1st half), the excellent Paul Carey, Josh Ronayne, Aidan McTigue and Michael Conroy.
