Minors qualify for County B Final
Davitts minor team qualified for the County B final with an excellent 1-12 to 0-9 victory over Naoimh Phadraig in Castlebar on Sunday. Davitts had built up a 0-8 to 0-2 lead at halftime after playing with the wind, with midfielders Mark Ronayne and Sean Waldron supplying the forwardline with a lot of quality ball and Clive Hennigan, Darren Connolly, Tommy Waldron and Liam Noone in top form up front.
Naoimh Phadraig tried hard to get into the game in the second half but an excellent goal by impressive sub Michael Clarke sealed a great win for Davitts who now play Kiltimagh in the final. Davitts minus the services of Andrew Peters and Jason Connolly had other notable performers in Donie Ronayne, Brian Clarke, Gerard McWalter and William Freeley. A word of praise to referee Mel Kenny who had an excellent game.
