Minors lose semi-final replay by narrowest of margins
Davitts minor team made the long journey to Bangor on Sunday and were narrowly defeated by Kiltane, 2-13 to 4-6, in a cracking Div 4 minor league semi-final replay. Davitts failed to capitalise on the assistance of the very strong wind in the first half and the sides went in at half time level, 2-3 to 1-6, Josh Ronayne and Clive Hennigan the Davitts goalscorers. The homeside went four points up early in the second half and it looked like they would win easily but the Davitts lads showed tremendous spirit with David Mitchell, Donie Ronayne, Tommy Heneghan, Michael Waldron, Josh Ronayne and Darren Connolly leading the charge and came so close to snatching an unlikely win, Josh Ronayne hitting the crossbar with the last kick of the game.
