Minors defeat Aughamore in second league match
Davitts Minors secured another brace of Div 2 league points with a fine win over Aughamore in Ballindine on Sunday morning by a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-10. Davitts led by 0-13 to 0-3 at half time, after playing with the assistance of the strong (and bitterly cold) wind in the first half. Aughamore got on top in the second half but some excellent defending all over the field kept the homeside in control right up to the final whistle.
Michael Mangan had a sound game in goals and in front of him Dylan Keadin, Donie Ronayne (superb), Dylan Higgins, Jack Rodgers, Padraig Mangan and crowd pleaser John Huane were all on top of their games. William Freeley and the outstanding Thomas Waldron held sway at midfield. Up front the lively Davitts forwardline linked well with Patrick Keadin, Michael Clarke, Liam Noone, the busy Gerald Griffin, Evan Ronayne and Cathal Hennelly all impressing as did subs Jamie Mullee and Liam Connolly.
