Sarsfields Shamrocks 2-17 Davitts 1-10
Davitts minor team faced Sarsfields Shamrocks (Charlestown and Kilmovee) in the league on Sunday morning in Charlestown but were beaten by ten points by an impressive home side.
By half-time Sarsfields Shamrocks had built up a sizeable 1-10 to 0-4 lead. Davitts first half scores came from Noah O Brien and Ronan Kelly (3).
Davitts played better in the third quarter and three Ronan Kelly points in the opening three minutes, a brilliant long range free kick from goalie Dylan O Brien in the 37th minute and another Ronan Kelly point in the 43rd minute, reduced the deficit to just four points. The home team responded superbly however and they reeled off a goal and six points in the next twelve minutes. Ronan Kelly kicked a Davitts point in the 58th minute and the winners replied with a 60th minute point. An Aaron O Dea point and a converted penalty by Ronan Kelly completed the scoring in injury-time.
Davitts best players were Dylan O Brien, Tadhg Feerick, Ben Corless, Conor McDermott, Odhran O Conaire, Noah O Brien and Ronan Kelly.
