Juniors v Westport – Match Report
An understrength Davitts team were defeated, 2-10 to 0-10, by Westport in this Senior League Div 1D tie played in Ballindine on Saturday evening. Westport made good use of their wind advantage in the first half and led by 1-7 to 0-3 at halftime.
Davitts fought hard to close the deficit in the second half but a second Westport goal from a penalty, twelve minutes from the end, put paid to the home team’s challenge.
Davitts had solid performers in William Freeley, Lar Daly, Tommy Clarke, Padraig Mangan, Liam Noone and Cathal Hennelly.
