Juniors v Shrule – Match Report
A very understrength Junior team put up a spirited display before being defeated, 0-12
to 0-8, by Shrule-Glencorrib on Saturday evening. Davitts, who trailed by 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time will rue some bad wides in the second half, but will be encouraged by the battling performance of the whole team. The unavailability of Davitts inspirational captain Pat Hopkins, enjoying a weekend break in Liverpool, must surely have effected the morale of Pat Kearns young team, while several members of the intermediate panel were unable to play due to the county semi-final against Parke on Sunday. Outstanding for Davitts were Tommy Heneghan, Michael Ronayne, Tommy Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, Kevin Pups Daly and Dara Halligan.
