Juniors v Kiltimagh – Match Report
Davitts Juniors ensured their place in the Quarter Finals of the County B Championship with an emphatic 8-21 to 1-9 victory over Kiltimagh in Ballindine on Saturday. Davitts overpowered the opposition from the throw in and led by 5-11 to 1-5 at half time, the goals coming from Paul Carey, Shane Treacy (pen), Mattie Trench (pen), and two absolute gems from the superb Seamus Roche. The Davitts points were scored by Tommy Clarke, Seamus Roche (2), Paul Carey, Gerald Griffin (2), Shane Treacy, Mattie Trench (2) and Padraig Mangan.
Davitts used their bench and introduced six subs in the second half with all of them making their mark on the game. They added three more goals from Shane Mitchell, Micheal Mangan and a Lawrence Daly penalty with points from Mattie Trench, Shane Mitchell (2), Clive Hennigan (2), Gerald Griffin, Padraig Mangan, Brian Clarke, Tommy Clarke and Tommy Mitchell as they kept up their intensity to the final whistle.
While all of the Davitts players were impressive in this game, they will know that much sterner tests will await them as the season progresses.
