Juniors v Kilmovee – Match Report

Davitts 3-12 | Kilmovee 1-7

Davitts Junior Team turned on the style in this County Junior B Championship tie played in perfect conditions in Ballindine on Sunday. Davitts, playing into the wind in the first half, defended superbly in that first half and led by 1-4 to 0-5 at the break. The goal came from Darren Connolly after great work by JP Kirrane and Clive Hennigan. Hennigan helped himself to two points and the first half tally was completed by Connolly and the very lively Shane Treacy.

Davitts assumed complete control after the break with midfielders Sean Waldron and William Freeley lording it and the half back line of James Cummins, Michael Ronayne and Michael Mangan mopping up anything that came their way. Further goals via Liam Noone from the penalty spot and Johnno Clarke, after a sweeping movement, put Davitts firmly in the driving seat. Treacy (2), Connolly (2), Johnno Clarke and the evergreen David McDonagh (3) were the second half pointscorers.
