Juniors v Kilmeena – Match Report
Davitts travelled to Kilmeena on Sunday morning and gave the locals a real scare in Division 1D of the Senior League, before going down on a 2-11 to 0-13 scoreline. There was some fine football played by both sides throughout this entertaining game. The sides were level at halftime, Davitts 0-8 to the homeside’s 1-5, after Davitts had played with the advantage of the wind. Aidan McTigue (4), Darren Connolly (3) and Seamus Roche were Davitts first half scorers.
A second Kilmeena goal with twelve minutes remaining proved to be a real sucker punch for the visitors. This score put the hosts six points clear and while Davitts battled well right up to the final whistle, they were unable to find the net.
