Juniors v Kilmaine – South Mayo Junior B Final – Match Report
A strong Kilmaine team defeated Davitts in the South Mayo Junior B Final played in Ballindine on Wednesday evening. The final scoreline was 2-10 to 0-5 as Kilmaine did most of the damage in the first half.
A goal in the first minute got Kilmaine off to a dream start and they never looked back. They tagged on another 1-5 before the break with Davitts replying through three points from Richie Kilkenny, John Kilkenny and Tommy Clarke.
Davitts played with great spirit in the second half but could only muster up two more points, from Richie Kilkenny and Seamus Roche, as the weather conditions and visibility worsened, and Kilmaine ran out the comfortable winners.
Best for Davitts were David Mitchell, David Devane, Kevin Gallagher who had a terrific game, Shane Mitchell, William Freeley, Niall Kearns and Richie Kilkenny.
