Juniors v Kilcommin – Match Report
Davitts Junior Team were defeated by table toppers Kilcommin, 7-11 to 1-15, in Glenamoy on Sunday. Most of the damage was done in the first twenty minutes with the homeside running riot and leading by 6-6 to 0-4 at this stage. Kilcommin led by 6-8 to 0-7 at halftime with Josh Ronayne, making his comeback after a lengthy absence through injury, in sparkling form up front for Davitts. He scored four points in the first half with Tommy Mitchell, Shane Mitchell and Patrick Keadin scoring a point each.
Davitts got very competitive in the second half and with Sean Waldron, Tommy Mitchell and sub John Heneghan winning the midfield battle. Josh Ronayne added four more points, Johnno Clarke netted and Martin Cosgrove, Sean Waldron, Liam Noone and John Heneghan all pointed in an encouraging second half display.
All of the Davitts players gave their all with Gerard McWalter, Patrick Keadin, Sean Waldron, Tommy Mitchell, Liam Noone and Josh Ronayne particularly impressive.
