Juniors v Claremorris – Match Report
Davitts and Claremorris met in the South Mayo Junior Championship in Ballindine on Wednesday evening. With both teams already qualified for the semi-finals, the game was to decide which of the teams would top the group and it was the home side that prevailed, 0-13 to 0-9, after an entertaining match.
First half points from Aidan McTigue (2), Liam Noone (3) and Darragh McGale saw Davitts ahead by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break.
Claremorris fought valiantly throughout the second half but Davitts were always able to stay ahead. Liam Noone (4), Tommy Clarke, Seamus Roche and Tommy Clarke added second half points.
Davitts now play at home to Garrymore in the semi-final while Claremorris are away to Hollymount Carramore.
