Cill Chomain 2-12 Davitts 1-9
Davitts juniors put up a great fight before losing to a useful looking Cill Chomain side in Div 1D of the Mayo Senior League. The game was played in windy conditions in Glenamoy on Sunday. Davitts trailed by a point at the break, 1-5 to 1-4. Tommy Clarke scored Davitts goal after some fine work by Clive Hennigan and Matthew Trench. Shane Mitchell, Liam Noone, Mark Ronayne and Sean Waldron got the first half points.
Davitts had plenty of possession in the second half with midfielders Sean Waldron and William Freeley winning plenty of ball and wing backs Mark Ronayne and JP Kirrane driving forward at every opportunity but the Cill Chomain lads defended superbly. Three Clive Hennigan points and two from Liam Noone accounted for Davitts second half tally.
Best for Davitts were the superb Kevin Gallagher, JP Kirrane, Mark Ronayne, William Freeley, Liam Noone, Matthew Trench and Clive Hennigan.
