Juniors v Charlestown – Match Report
Davitts Junior Team had a welcome first win in Div 1D of the senior League when they defeated Charlestown by 2-10 to 1-5 in Ballindine on Sunday. A very hard working team display earned Davitts the two points as they led by 1-8 to 0-3 at half time after being wind assisted.
The goal was scored by William Freeley after fifteen minutes and the point scorers were Martin Cosgrove (2), Liam Noone (2), Sean Waldron (2), Shane Treacy and John Costello.
Charlestown fought hard to narrow the deficit but a sterling defensive display by the homeside kept them at bay. A second Davitts goal scored by Shane Mitchell after ten minutes finished the game off.
This was a real team effort by Davitts in a game where all twenty one players contributed to the win.
