Juniors v Castlebar – Match Report
Davitts were defeated by Castlebar Mitchells in Div 1D of the Senior League in Castlebar on Saturday evening. The final scoreline was 0-19 to 1-9 as a five minute purple spell, early in the second half, yielding five points, ensured the victory for the homeside. Mitchells led by 0-7 to 0-5 at the break after a well fought first half. An injury to Davitts best player Liam Noone ten minutes into the second half didn’t help the cause but Castlebar played the better football as they began to dominate around the middle sector. Jack Rodgers scored a terrific goal to give Davitts hope of a revival but Castlebar finished off the stronger.
