Juniors v Castlebar–League Division 4 – Match Report
Davitts opening match in Div 4 of the Senior League ended in defeat on Saturday with Castlebar Mitchels proving much too strong and winning by 4-13 to 2-8.
Castlebar played with the assistance of the strong wind in the first half and had established a 2-9 to 0-1 lead at the interval. Dara O Flaherty notched Davitts first half score.
Davitts improved considerably in the second half with Michael Conroy a constant thorn in Castlebar’s defence. Conroy shot 1-5 from play with Liam Kearns adding 1-2 to put a more respectable look to the scoreboard.
Best for Davitts were Cian Naughton, Brian Clarke, Paul Carey, Tommy Clarke, Michael Conroy, Dara O Flaherty and David Devane.
