Juniors v Ballinrobe – Match Report
Davitts got their County Junior Championship campaign off to a perfect start with an emphatic 4-20 to 1-2 victory over Ballinrobe in Ballindine on Monday. Ballinrobe just couldn’t match the power and pace of the young Davitts team who were dominant in all areas of the field.
With Tommy Mitchell and John Heneghan lording it at midfield, Davitts led by 1-11 to 0-1 at halftime. Up front the impressive Liam Noone and Darren Connolly were inflicting the most damage to the visitors but the workrate and teamwork of the Davitts lads was most impressive. Darren Connolly got the first half goal and added two more in the second half with Carlos O Gara getting the fourth. As well as those already mentioned, Davitts had strong performers in Michael Waldron, Mark Ronayne and Seamus Roche, but the whole team and subs played very well on this occasion.
