Juniors stage late comeback v Ballaghadereen
Davitts Junior team staged a dramatic late comeback to earn a share of the spoils against Ballaghadereen in a league game played in ideal conditions in Ballindine on Saturday evening. Davitts, who had lost in the previous round to a Paddy Finnegan inspired Aughamore, overcame the loss of the jetlagged Pat Hopkins, to snatch an unlikely draw after trailing by 1-11 to 0-7 as the game entered the final quarter. Late goals from David Cosgrove and a superb Seamus Roche effort brought Davitts back into the game and three excellent Maurice Prendergast points earned a draw for the homeside. Davitts best players were Derek Mooney, Martin Cosgrove, Michael Ronayne, Seamus Roche, Maurice Prendergast, Richie Kilkenny and player coach Luke Ronayne.
