Juniors on verge of promotion to Division 1D
Davitts Junior team’s push for promotion from Div 1E of the senior league received a massive boost in Ballindine on Sunday when they defeated Ardagh by 3-12 to 0-8. Davitts were never in any trouble in this game and had raced into a 1-8 to 0-4 lead at halftime with inspirational captain Seamus Roche, the outstanding Darren Connolly and Liam Noone in sparkling form in Davitts attack. Darren Connolly scored the goal in the 20th minute after excellent work by Donal Ronayne, Johnno Clarke, John Heneghan, Mark Ronayne and Seamus Roche.
Two more goals from Darren Connolly and Johnno Clarke in the second half killed off the challenge of Ardagh. Davitts were able to introduce five subs in the second half and they all aquitted themselves well demonstrating the strength in depth of the squad.
Outstanding for Davitts were David Mitchell, Donal Ronayne, Michael Ronayne, James Cummins, John Heneghan, Johnno Clarke, Seamus Roche and Darren Connolly.
