Davitts qualify for O’Mara Cup final
Davitts qualified for the O’Mara Cup final for the first time in several years with a well deserved 0-11 to 0-7 victory away to Garrymore on St. Patricks Day. Davitts dominated the possession stakes throughout but trailed by 0-7 to 0-5 at half time, having played with the assistance of the wind in the first half. A superb, hard working second half performance, holding the homeside scoreless, was very encouraging for manager Peter Warren and his selectors John Treacy and Jarleth Trench, although the kicking of 18 wides in the course of the game would be a major concern. While this was an excellent team effort, Davitts had particularly noteworthy performers in Michael Waldron, Colm Boyle, James Cummins, Colm Roche, Paul Carey, Keith Prendergast, Keith Glynn and Michael Conroy.
