Ballindine, Co. Mayo

February 7, 2012

5 days and counting…

Just a few days to go before our date with Milltown-Castlemaine in Croker. The atmosphere is building up nicely as the villages of Ballindine and Irishtown are looking resplendent. The flags, bunting, signs etc are adding enormously to the occasion and a big well done to everybody in the parish for their effort.

The special supporters train is full up and great credit is due to the organisers for their tremendous work. A big thank you to all the well wishers from other clubs, your support is greatly appreciated.

On Friday night Mid West Radio will be in Bourkes recording a special “Up For The Match” program with Angelina Nugent and Billy Fitzpatrick. There will be plenty of chat, both serious and lighthearted, with some of the club’s most legendary figures as well as a few tunes from local group The Rambling Rogues, and one or two surprises. Music afterwards with the one and only Sean McDonagh. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed in what should be the ideal start to the biggest weekend in our proud club’s history.

Finally the club would like to wish Clonbur the very best of luck in the Junior Final. We played a couple of good challenge games with them this season and we have no doubt that they have the ability to claim the title and hopefully they will start off a famous day for Connaught football in Croke Park.
