The Neale 1-10 Davitts 0-6
The Neale and Davitts met in the O Mara Cup on Friday night. The game was played in wet and windy conditions which meant that quality play was at a premium. Playing into the stiff wind, Jack Devane opened the scoring with a well taken Davitts point in the 6th minute. Both sides were guilty of some erratic shooting but the home-side shot points in the 7th, 9th, 11th and 24th minutes and a goal two minutes from half-time gave them a healthy six point lead at the interval.
Two Liam Kearns points and one from second half sub Michael Conroy narrowed the gap to three as the game entered the final quarter. The home team, appearing to have the edge on fitness, fired over six points in the last fifteen minutes with Davitts only managing two, from Liam Kearns and Jack Devane.
Joe Prendergast, Sean Feerick, Sean Keadin, Charlie Phillips, Liam Kearns and Jack Devane played well but the whole team fought hard throughout.

Davitts 1-10 Ballinrobe 1-10
Davitts and Ballinrobe met in the second round of the Minor League in Ballindine on Monday with the spoils being shared after a competitive match. The conditions were tough but there was a lot of good football played.
Ronan Kelly, having another excellent game, opened the scoring with a first minute point but Ballinrobe replied with a goal three minutes later. Two more Ronan Kelly points for the homeside and two from Ballinrobe saw the visitors ahead by two after the first quarter. Davitts were on top for the remainder of the half and wind assisted points from Conor McDermott, Ciaran Treacy and Noah O Brien put them ahead by a point at the break, 0-6 to 1-2.
The homeside started the second half brightly and points from Aaron O Dea and Ronan Kelly (2) extended the lead before Ronan Kelly fired home a Davitts goal in the 38th minute. Ballinrobe scored two points in the 41st and 44th minutes but Davitts suffered a massive blow in the next minute. Star forward Ciaran Treacy, who was at the heart of all of his side’s good work, suffered a broken collar bone which forced his retiral. Seconds later Davitts full-back Sean Clarke received an extremely harsh black card and Ballinrobe began to take over. They benefitted from a number of refereeing decisions and scored six unanswered points to take the lead as the game entered its final few minutes. Ronan Kelly had the final say though and he shot a superb equalising free kick in the 59th minute.
Tadhg Feerick, Conor McDermott, Noah O Brien, Burke Briere, Fionn McTigue, Ronan Kelly and the unlucky Ciaran Treacy, had fine games for Davitts as the whole side put in an honest shift.
Davitts: Dylan Gormley, Ben Corless, Sean Clarke, Brian Hett, Tadhg Feerick, Conor McDermott (0-1), Noah O Brien (0-1), Burke Briere, Dylan Burke, Fionn McTigue, Ronan Kelly (1-6), Cillian Kearns, Aaron O Dea (0-1), Ciaran Treacy (0-1), Aaron Conneely Basham. Sub used: Odhran O Conaire.
Carras 1-9 Davitts 0-15
Davitts minors got their Div 2 league campaign off to a winning start with a three point defeat of neighbours Carras in Garrymore on Sunday morning. The game was in the balance right up to the final whistle as is the norm when those two rivals meet.
Carras opened the scoring in the fourth minute and the impressive Ronan Kelly shot Davitts first point two minutes later. Carras then tagged on three points in a row between the 8th and 13th minutes. Davitts got on top in the third quarter and although they spurned at least three gilt edged goal chances, points from Ronan Kelly, Ciaran Treacy (2), Aaron CB and Tadhg Feerick saw them go ahead by two before a late brace of Carras points tied the game at half-time, 0-6 each.
A Carras point in the first minute of the second half was cancelled out by a similar score from Noah O Brien in the 36th minute. Carras regained the lead with their eighth point on 38 minutes but five Davitts points in a row from Ciaran Treacy (3), Aaron CB and Fionn McTigue put them four ahead with ten minutes remaining. The home side pointed in the 51st minute with Ciaran Treacy restoring the four point gap in the 55th minute.
