Davitts 1-14 Lahardane 1-12
A strong second half performance from Davitts earned the two Senior League Div 3 points on offer in Ballindine on Sunday after an exciting match against a gallant Lahardane side.
After playing with the assistance of the stiffish wind in the first half, Davitts lead of 0-7 to 0-6 at the break would have given Lahardane great encouragement as they looked the more likely victors at that stage of the match. Davitts first half scores came via Keith Prendergast, Evan Ronane (2), Tommy Waldron, Jack Ronayne and Josh Ronayne (2).
The second half started off in whirlwind style with Davitts pointing three times in the first four minutes through Tommy Waldron, Niall Treacy and Evan Ronane and Lahardane replying with two of their own. A superb Davitts goal in the 37th minute, a tidy finish from Evan Ronane after great work by Micheal Hett and Darragh McGale extended Davitts lead to five points and Jack Ronayne made that six points a minute later.
Lahardane refused to buckle however and a 43rd minute goal and a 45th minute point trimmed Davitts advantage to two points at the second water break. Davitts had to dig deep now but they responded well with three unanswered points from Evan Ronane and Josh Ronayne (2) with five minutes normal time remaining. Again Lahardane came back and shot the final three points of the game in the 57th, 61st and 65th minutes but they could not find a way through to get the goal they needed.

Davitts Junior’s travelled to Claremorris and, after an entertaining encounter, were defeated by 0-13 to 1-9, in Div 5 of the Senior League.
Claremorris opened the scoring with a third minute point but amazingly they didn’t score again until the 26th minute. By this stage Davitts, inspired by the superb Cathal Hennelly had raced into a seven point lead with Hennelly supplying 1-4, the goal from the penalty spot after Tomas Ronayne was fouled and Stephen Nyland firing over a classy point. Claremorris had found their range however and four late points from the homeside left Davitts ahead by 1-6 to 0-6 at halftime.
Points from Cathal Hennelly and Brian Clarke and five Claremorris points had the sides level at the second water break. Claremorris regained the lead in the 46th minute and extended their lead to two points with another in the 54th minute. Cathal Hennelly narrowed the gap a minute later but this was to be the game’s final score. Davitts spurned three good late chances to equalise before referee Mark Tuffy, who had a fine game, blew the final whistle to end a very exciting match.

Davitts 2-7 Garrymore 3-14
The South Mayo Junior B Final was held in Ballindine on Wednesday evening. After a tight and entertaining first half, with Davitts leading by a point at the break, Garrymore looked to their powerful bench and the introduction of some strong players swung the game firmly in their favour.
Davitts led by a point at the first water break, 1-2 to 0-4, with defenders Micheal Hett and Donie Ronayne getting the points and Brian Clarke finishing for the goal after a well worked move involving Padraig Mangan, Fearghal McGrath and Fenton Kelly. Garrymore tagged on four points in the second quarter but a second Brian Clarke goal, after great work by the tireless Danny Corless and Fearghal McGrath, and a point from Fearghal McGrath, saw the homeside ahead by 2-3 to 0-8 at halftime.
Garrymore dominated long periods of the second half and they outscored Davitts by 3-6 to 0-4 in this period (one of the goals would hardly have been allowed if there was a VAR to rule on square balls!). Fenton Kelly, Fearghal McGrath, Cathal Hennelly and Jamie Mullee got the second half points for the homeside. Indeed it was great to see the return to action of Cathal Hennelly who has been sidelined for six weeks with a knee injury and he played well when introduced in the second half.
Davitts would have been delighted with the first half display, all the players performing well and playing with great spirit. They fought valiantly to the end of the game but Garrymore’s firepower off the bench proved to be the difference between the sides.

Subs used: Jamie Mullee (0-1), Liam Macken, Kieran Fahy, Cathal Hennelly (0-1), Jack Trench, Brian Birmingham.
Davitts 1-7 Hollymount Carramore 1-9
Hollymount Carramore, who possessed a more economical attack, defeated Davitts by two points in this Senior League Div 5 clash played in Ballindine on Sunday. This was a very competitive game with the result in doubt right up to the final whistle.
Johnno Clarke opened the scoring with a first minute point. Hollycarra shot two points before the first water break as excellent defending by both sides ensured that scores were going to be scarce. Davitts Fenton Kelly had a penalty saved in the 21st minute but the same player was pulled down in the square a minute later after a great run, and Fearghal McGrath made no mistake from the spot kick. The visitors pointed three times before the break and Fenton Kelly scored one for Davitts to leave the sides level at half time.
Fearghal McGrath pointed in the 32nd minute but Hollycarra did likewise in the 35th and 37th minutes to regain the lead. Fenton Kelly equalised in the 41st minute but the visitors goaled two minutes later to put them in the driving seat. A 45th minute point extended the lead to four. Johnno Clarke and Shane Mitchell pointed to narrow the gap again. In a tense final few minutes Hollycarra held their nerve, both sides shooting late points, Fearghal McGrath the Davitts scorer, as the visitors claimed the two league points.

Shrule Glencorrib 1-8 Davitts 1-7
Shrule Glencorrib hosted Davitts in the first round of the Senior League Div 3 on Saturday evening and a goal deep into injury time snatched a victory for the home side. The game was played in difficult conditions with the wind and rain ensuring that good constructive football was at a premium.
Shrule Glencorrib led by 0-5 to 0-4 at the first water break with Patrick Keadin, Josh Ronayne, Shane Treacy and Fenton Kelly the Davitts scorers. Shrule Glencorrib added a point in the 22nd minute to extend their lead to two points but a superb Fenton Kelly goal in the thirtieth minute, set up by Jamie Mullee and Niall Treacy, left Davitts ahead by 1-4 to 0-6 at half time.
The second half was of very poor quality with both teams managing just three scores each as the conditions worsened. Points by Josh Ronayne and Fenton Kelly put Davitts three ahead at the second water break but the home side benefitted from a change of mind by referee Martin Walsh and his umpires, when they upgraded a clear wide to a point, a decision which left everyone bemused and left two points between the sides.
Evan Ronane scored a neat Davitts point in the 53rd minute and this was cancelled out four minutes later. Davitts had their chances to extend their lead but unforced errors were to haunt them as Shrule Glencorrib scored a goal at the death to grab the win.
