There will be a presentation of medals for Davitts successful U-13 and U-14 squads on Sunday, February 4th at 5pm in the Clubhouse. All-Star Brendan Harrison will present the medals alongside Colm Boyle.
All are welcome to come along and show your appreciation for these exciting young players.
Its that time of the year again. For the past three years representatives from Davitts GAA Club visited homes and businesses throughout the Parish to sell tickets for the Croke Park National Draw. Due to the overwhelming generosity of the Community we raised much needed funds for the new Clubhouse.
Due to the outstanding support received, Davitts GAA Club has been in the top three selling Clubs in the country for the last three years.
This year we are using the proceeds from our tickets sold to raise funds for Ballindine N.S. for the Astro-Turf Development at the school. It is a multi-purpose all-weather development that will be used by the pupils now and in future generations in the National School and in the wider community of the parish. Davitts GAA Club will have unlimited access to this facility which will be of tremendous assistance to the development of our players.
We are hoping to raise as much as possible from the Croke Park Draw and in addition to the magnificent prizes that GAA Headquarters sponsor, Davitts will have a separate draw for those who purchase tickets from us.
The prizes up for grabs are as follows:
1. Family Membership of Davitts GAA Club – €100 ticket
2. Yearly Presto
3. €50 Dinner Voucher
4. 1/2 Yearly Presto
5. €30 Hamper
Tickets are priced at €10 each and come in books of 5, so for €50 a book is yours.
Club representatives will be calling to all the houses in the Parish over the the next two weeks.

Davitts GAA Club will hold their Bord Na n-Óg AGM on Saturday January 27th at 6pm in the Clubhouse. There, a very successful season will be reviewed and plans will be made for hopefully an even more successful 2018 season. We would encourage as many parents and supporters as possible to come along and get involved.
Davitts GAA Club received funding from the HSE Lottery Fund this year as part of the Healthy Club Project.
This funding will be used to subsidise cardiovascular health assessments for club members, and the community at large, on Saturday 13th January in the Clubhouse. These health assessments will be carried out by a team from Croí and are specifically aimed at the 40 plus age group. However, they are open to anyone over the age of 18 with any concerns regarding their heart health.
The assessment is evidence based and includes cholesterol check, diabetes check, blood pressure check, body mass index (weight) and carbon monoxide measurement for smokers. A cardiac risk profile is then calculated based on these results followed by an individualised consultation from a member of the Croí team on how to reduce this risk of a cardiac event.
This assessment usually costs €50 but with our subsidy will only cost €35. Places are extremely limited and anyone interested should book this week with Croí on 091-544310.
