The Irishtown 5K Series will take place on Sunday Feb 7th, Sunday Feb 14th and Sunday Feb 21st. The races will commence at 10am with registration in the Irishtown Community Centre at 9am. The registration fee is €7 per race or €15 for all three races with children under 16 free. There will be prizes for Men’s and Women’s overall winners and loads of spot prizes on offer throughout the Series….
Davitts GAA Club’s Bord Na -Óg AGM will take place on Saturday January 23rd at 7pm in the Community Centre, Ballindine. This is a very important meeting and we would urge as many people as possible to attend to discuss the best ways we can cater for and develop our young footballers in the Club, the Michael Conroys and Colm Boyles of the future. We need new faces and fresh ideas. Please feel free to come along…..
Davitts GAA Club are currently engaging in one final push to get as many Croke Park National Draw €10 tickets sold as possible. Last year we amazingly (for such a small club) were second nationally behind the Na Fianna Club in Dublin for the sale of those tickets. All of the money we collect can be kept by the club and will be used towards the completion of the building of the new clubhouse. The popular Irishtown 5K Race Series will take place on Sunday Jan 31st, Sunday Feb 6th and Sunday Feb 13th. This is a fun event in which participants can run, jog or walk. Entry fee is €15 for the three races and there are prizes for Men’s and Women’s overall winners. There will be loads of spot prizes on offer throughout the Series. Davitts GAA Club held an Awards Presentation night on Saturday in the Borderline. Congrats to our award winners for 2015. They were as follows:
U-21 Player of the Year: Brian Clarke.
Junior Player of the Year: Lawrence Daly.
Senior Player of the Year: James Cummins.
Clubperson of the Year: Louis Prendergast.
Hall of Fame Inductee: Frank McGrath.
Ronan Kirrane proved a very capable MC on the night. Thanks to the Borderline for the food, PJ Barrett the DJ and Breda Raftery for the photography and the big crowd that turned up on the night.
