Davitts 1-13 Kilmaine 1-12.
Davitts got the better of Kilmaine in this O Mara Cup tie played in tropical conditions in Ballindine on Sunday. The very youthful Davitts boys played some excellent football in a well contested game that was up for grabs right up to the final whistle.
A tit for tat first half saw the sides level at 0-6 each at the break. Points from Cathal Hennelly, Matthew Trench, Andrew Peters, Liam Kearns and Josh Ronayne (2) accounted for Davitts first half tally.
Davitts started to edge the game after the restart with midfielders Josh Ronayne and Michael Waldron on top of their game. Points from Liam Kearns (2), Thomas Waldron, Josh Ronayne (2), Andrew Peters and Matthew Trench had Davitts ahead by 0-13 to 0-10 with ten minutes remaining. A superb Thomas Waldron goal seemed to have sealed the game but a late salvo by the gallant visitors, yielding 1-2, meant that Davitts just hung on to a merited victory.

Garrymore 0-15 Davitts 0-7
A very impressive Garrymore team proved too strong for Davitts in this Michael Walsh Senior League Semi-Final in Garrymore on Saturday. The first half was well contested with Davitts midfielder Josh Ronayne, arguably the best player on show, and Cathal Hennelly, a minor player with a big future, tormenting the Garrymore defence. The teams went in at half-time level at 0-5 apiece.
Garrymore’s greater power in the second half was a deciding factor and they went on to win in an impressive fashion, dominating proceedings and looking like a team that are going places.
Davitts best performers were Kevin Gallagher, James Cummins, Keith Prendergast, Cathal Higgins, Josh Ronayne, Seamus Roche, Matthew Trench and Cathal Hennelly.

Davitts dominated the game from the throw in and led by 1-9 to 0-2 at halftime with the very impressive Cathal Hennelly scoring the goal after twenty minutes.
The Davitts forwardline were linking well with Hennelly, Evan Ronayne, Shane Treacy and Gerald Griffin all in the mood. Two classy second half Evan Ronayne goals ensured a comfortable win for Davitts.

The Neale 1-11 Davitts 1-12
The Neale and Davitts served up a cracking O Mara Cup tie in Cong on Saturday with Davitts coming out on top by a point at the end of a very competitive game. Davitts started off brightly and points from Josh Ronayne and Liam Kearns had them ahead after five minutes. The Neale responded well and took the lead with four unanswered points. Davitts lost their influential midfielder Ronan McNamara through injury early in the game to add to an already long injury list. Michael Conroy was proving to be a key figure at centre half forward though, and he, Keith Prendergast, Thomas Waldron and Josh Ronayne all pointed before the interval to leave the sides level, 0-6 apiece, at halftime.
The second half was played at a furious pace and it was tit for tat before Davitts outstanding midfielder Josh Ronayne hammered home his side’s only goal ten minutes into the half. Thomas Waldron added a point to put Davitts four ahead but The Neale fought back bravely. They goaled themselves and shot an equalising point as it looked like the game might end up in deadlock. Michael Conroy however had the last say with an excellent winning point from way out, to give Davitts a hard earned win.
Best for Davitts were Colm Roche, Kevin Gallagher, James Cummins, Josh Ronayne, Michael Conroy, Matthew Trench, Thomas Waldron and man of the match Liam Kearns.

The expected Louisburgh fightback never materialised as Davitts defended magnificently in the second half with Michael Mangan, Dylan Keadin and Dylan Higgins in top form.
This was a fine team performance with every player playing their part in an important win.

Davitts 0-5 Mayo Gaels 2-5.
A much sharper and hungrier Mayo Gaels side came to Ballindine on Sunday and deservedly beat a lethargic Davitts team in the first round of the O Mara Cup. Davitts never really looked like winning this game and, but for some erratic shooting by the visitors, would have been beaten by a lot more.
Mark Ronayne, Kevin Gallagher, James Cummins and Matthew Trench fought hard throughout in what, from a Davitts viewpoint, was a very disappointing performance.
Davitts: Adrian McNamara, Mark Ronayne, Cathal Higgins, Kevin Gallagher, James Cummins, Colm Roche, Lawrence Daly, Josh Ronayne (0-2), Keith Prendergast (0-2), Seamus Roche, Paul Carey, Matthew Trench (0-1), Thomas Waldron, Fearghal McGrath, Liam Kearns.
