Garrymore White Collar Boxing Review

Garrymore White Collar Boxing Review

Two of our finest pugilists, Aiden “Mad Dog” McTigue and Liam “Super Stanley” Nyland took part in a white collar boxing event to raise funds for our close neighbours Garrymore GAA.

In the fly weight section the Davitts corner forward, Aidan McTigue was crowned the winner against his regal opponent, Jimmy King, although many Davitts people present thought a draw would have been the fairest result.

In a rousing super heavyweight bout Super Stanley turned the heat on Liameen Monaghan but due to a computer malfunction, the decision turned out to be a draw!!!!!

Fair play to all the lads that participated in the show, it took a lot of guts.

Apologies for website connectivity issues over the weekend

Apologies to anyone who couldn’t access the website over the weekend. We were, as they say, experiencing some technical difficulties. At one point, it didn’t look like the site would pull through and we were expecting to have to make funeral arrangements with our local undertaker. But in the end it pulled through – it’s hard to kill a bad thing!

Good luck to St. Colmans College Senior team

There will be a huge Davitts interest in the St. Colmans College senior team’s championship campaign, which begins next week (check local papers for date and venue), against Roscommon CBS. Davitts have no fewer than nine representatives on the panel this year, more than any other year previously, and it indicates the healthy state of the club presently. On behalf our very proud club we would like to wish the best of luck to Michael Mangan, Brian Clarke, Cathal Higgins, William Freeley, Padraig Mangan, Sean Waldron, Andrew Peters, Thomas Waldron, Liam Noone and the rest of the St. Colmans panel and management.
