O’Mara Cup v Claremorris fixture moved to Saturday 06th March

Davitts visit Claremorris in the O Mara Cup on Saturday, March 5th, at 4.30pm. This tie is usually a lively encounter and is a dress rehearsal for the first round of the Senior League Div 1B clash between the two sides in three weeks time. Although neither side will want to show their full hands in Saturday’s game, neither will want to lose their unbeaten O Mara Cup records either, so an enjoyable match is anticipated. A big support would be a great help to the boys in black and red.

2011 Mayo Senior Championship Draw

The Groups for the Senior Championship draw are as follows:

Group 1 – Ballintubber, Crossmolina, Westport, Garrymore

Group 2 – Knockmore, Breaffy, Ballinrobe, Kiltane

Group 3 – Castlebar, Charlestown, Aghamore, Ballaghadareen

Group 4 – Shrule, Ballina, Tourmakeady, Claremorris

Group 3 probably wins the dreaded title of “Group of Death”, although the defending champions Ballintubber will be confident of progressing to the quarter-finals. Likewise with last year’s beaten finalists Castlebar, who will fancy their chances in Group 3. Knockmore will be the bookie’s favourite to qualify from Group 2, with Shrule and Ballina likely to be fighting it out for top spot in Group 4.

2011 Mayo Intermediate Championship Draw

After last year’s disappointing exit from the Intermediate Championship at the hands of Kiltimagh, Davitts will get the opportunity to exact a measure of revenge on the East Mayo side in the group stage of this year’s Championship. The other two teams drawn against Davitts in Group 2 are neighbours Hollymount and North Mayo outfit Killala.

Davitts will play two home games in this year’s Group Stage, which will be against Kiltimagh and Killala, either side of the short trip over to Hollymount where a warm welcome will no doubt await!

The other Groups in the Intermediate Championship shape up as follows:

Group 1 – Burrishroole, Kilmaine, Swinsford & Bonniconlon

Group 3 – Bellmullet, Kilcommon, Mayo Gaels, Kilmeena

Group 4 – Moy Davitts, Ballyhaunis, Achill, Parke

As usual, two teams from each Group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
