13s v Burrishoole – Match Report
Davitts U-13 team were defeated, 6-10 to 3-6, by a stronger Burrishoole side, in the Div 3 League final played in sunny Breaffy on Saturday. Davitts got off to the worst start possible with the concession of 1-1 in the opening minute. Davitts trailled by 2-6 to 0-2 at the interval, with Stephen Nyland and Shane Cummins the point scorers.
Davitts played better in the second half and driven on by the outstanding Jordan Flanagan and Niall Treacy began to claw into the lead. Points from Shane Cummins, Stephen Nyland, Colin Mulligan (2) and three good goals scored by Shane Waldron, Niall Treacy and Cian Naughton accounted for the second half tally but it wasn’t enough to deprive the Burrishoole lads who were full value for their victory.
